Overwhelming Life Transitions

Schedule Free Consultation

Eligibility Snapshot:

Licensed Florida LMHC providing private-pay telehealth therapy to adults navigating overwhelming life transitions (e.g., new parenthood, relationship shifts, relocation, role changes, or loss); outpatient psychotherapy only — not crisis stabilization or emergency psychiatric care.

Provider Identification & Licensure & Location Requirements

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed in Florida. I provide telehealth therapy to clients who are physically located in Florida.

I may provide telehealth services to clients physically located in South Carolina when legally permitted under South Carolina regulations for out-of-state clinicians. Eligibility is confirmed prior to scheduling, and services are not guaranteed in all cases.

Services are provided via telehealth. This is a private-pay focused service. Select insurance plans may be accepted for individual outpatient therapy. See main page for details.

Primary Fit

This service is for adults experiencing emotional overwhelm, anxiety, irritability, or identity disruption during significant life transitions.

This may include transitions such as becoming a parent, career or role changes, marriage or divorce, relocation, caregiving shifts, grief and loss, or other major life adjustments. The focus is on stabilizing your nervous system, clarifying values, and navigating change without losing yourself.

When This Work Is a Good Fit

This work is often a strong fit when:

  • A recent life change has left you feeling more anxious or emotionally reactive than expected

  • You feel pressure to “handle it better” while privately struggling

  • Your identity feels unclear or disrupted in this new season

  • You are experiencing decision fatigue, irritability, or chronic overwhelm

  • You want support adjusting in a grounded, intentional way

When This Work Is Not the Right Fit

This may not be the best fit if:

  • You are experiencing active suicidal thoughts, severe depression requiring intensive treatment, or psychiatric instability requiring higher-level care

  • You require medication management without psychotherapy

  • You are seeking custody evaluations, court documentation, or forensic services

  • You are unwilling to explore how stress patterns may be amplifying transition-related distress

  • You are experiencing postpartum psychosis or severe perinatal psychiatric symptoms requiring medical or intensive treatment

  • You are currently in an unsafe domestic violence situation requiring crisis intervention or legal protection

  • You are seeking court-involved custody evaluation, legal documentation, or high-conflict custody services

If a higher level of care is needed, appropriate referrals will be recommended.

Therapeutic Approach & Style

My approach is steady, practical, and nervous-system informed. Even positive change can activate survival responses — especially when layered on existing stress.

Together we will:

  • Identify what feels destabilizing beneath the surface

  • Reduce shame around struggling during transition

  • Build regulation skills to decrease overwhelm

  • Clarify personal values and boundaries in shifting roles

  • Strengthen decision-making from steadiness rather than urgency

This work may draw from CBT, DBT-informed skills, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches, tailored to your specific transition.

The goal is not to eliminate change, but to help you feel grounded within it.

Credentials & Experience

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with experience supporting adults through anxiety, role transitions, relational changes, and stress-related overwhelm.

This is outpatient telehealth psychotherapy for adults and does not replace psychiatric care, emergency services, or specialized perinatal medical treatment.

Practical Details & Constraints

  • Format: 100% virtual therapy

  • Payment: Private pay only (no insurance billing)

  • Session Length: 50-60 minutes

  • Session Frequency: Typically weekly at the start; adjusted as stability improves

  • Client Participation: Clients are expected to actively practice reflection and regulation skills between sessions

  • Adolescents (age 10+) navigating major life transitions may be seen individually. Family sessions are occasionally offered if the adolescent is impacted by a parent’s recovery process.

Payment:

This is a private-pay focused service. Select insurance plans (Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Optum, Oscar) may be accepted for individual outpatient therapy. Please see the main page for current details and verification requirements.

Strong Match Indicators

You may be a strong match for this work if:

  • You feel destabilized by a life change that “should” feel manageable

  • You want structured support navigating a new chapter

  • You are open to examining stress responses and building new coping skills

  • You are ready to move forward intentionally rather than reactively

Summary

I help adults who feel overwhelmed by major life changes regain steadiness and clarity. This work focuses on nervous system regulation, identity shifts, and navigating transition without shame.

This is outpatient telehealth therapy and is not a substitute for emergency or psychiatric care.
