Individuals Navigating Substance Use and Recovery

Schedule Free Consultation

Eligibility Snapshot:

Licensed Florida LMHC providing private-pay telehealth therapy to adults seeking help for their own substance use or recovery; not detox, medical treatment, or court-mandated services.

Provider Identification & Licensure & Location Requirements

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) licensed in Florida. I provide telehealth therapy to clients who are physically located in Florida.

I may provide telehealth services to clients physically located in South Carolina when legally permitted under South Carolina regulations for out-of-state clinicians. Eligibility is confirmed prior to scheduling, and services are not guaranteed in all cases.

Services are provided via telehealth. This is a private-pay focused service. Select insurance plans may be accepted for individual outpatient therapy. See main page for details.

Primary Fit

This service is for adults who want support for their own substance use, whether actively using, attempting to reduce use, or working toward recovery.

Many of my clients are tired of relapse cycles, shame, secrecy, and starting over. Some feel ambivalent about stopping. Others are committed to recovery but fear slipping again. This work focuses on building stability, accountability, and emotional regulation — not moral judgment.

Abstinence is not required to begin therapy. We will clarify your goals together, whether that includes reduction, stabilization, or full sobriety.

When This Work Is a Good Fit

This work is often a strong fit when:

  • You are actively using substances and want help understanding and changing the pattern

  • You are in early recovery and want support preventing relapse

  • You feel stuck in cycles of shame, secrecy, or self-criticism

  • You are willing to examine triggers, coping patterns, and nervous system regulation

  • You are open to steady accountability without harshness or humiliation

  • You may feel unsure about stopping but are willing to explore the pattern honestly.

When This Work Is Not the Right Fit

This may not be the best fit if:

  • You require medical detox, inpatient treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP), or medication management

  • You are in immediate crisis, experiencing severe withdrawal, or at risk of medical instability

  • You are seeking court-ordered evaluations, mandated treatment documentation, or forensic services

  • You are not willing to examine your own behavior, patterns, and choices

  • You are using substances at a level that requires medical monitoring for withdrawal or overdose risk.

  • You are attending only to satisfy someone else and are unwilling to participate in meaningful self-examination.

This service provides outpatient therapy and does not replace medical or inpatient care. If a higher level of care is needed, I will recommend appropriate referrals. This is outpatient therapy and is not a substitute for medical or emergency care.

Therapeutic Approach & Style

My approach is steady, structured, and non-shaming. We begin by separating your identity from the behavior. Substance use is something you do — it is not who you are.

I use practical, evidence-based tools to help you:

  • Identify what your substance use is protecting or regulating

  • Build coping strategies that regulate your nervous system rather than distract it

  • Develop relapse prevention plans grounded in real-world triggers

  • Strengthen accountability while reducing shame-driven spirals

This work may draw from CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and trauma-informed approaches, always applied to your specific patterns and stage of change.
We create structured relapse-prevention plans tailored to your specific triggers, environments, and stress patterns.

Recovery is approached as a process. If relapse occurs, it is treated as data to understand — not proof of failure.

Credentials & Experience

I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders and the relational and emotional patterns that sustain them.

My work focuses on outpatient psychotherapy for adults. I do not provide medical detox, residential treatment, or medication-assisted treatment.
